My son recently grew out of the socks he wears to bed. Per his request, it was time to pick up some new socks. While at the store, I chose Hanes b/c they were the brand that contained the highest cotton content (bonus) but the problem was their sizing chart. My son is in a toddler size 10 shoe. Their chart recommends buying the size Medium boys sock that has a range of an 8.5 W (toddler)- and big kid size 2.5. That is a HUGE range. I didn't choose their size small b/c a toddler size 8.5 was the ceiling for its size range and I figured that may have been what we already had (it's been so long since I've picked these up, I could only remember that they were Hanes). Upon opening the package the socks seemed quite large but I attributed that to the idea that they've not been washed or dried yet (as we've had shrinkage issues with Hanes undershirts). So now they've been washed and dried, cannot be returned to the store that they were purchased from, and are enormous on my son. These will probably take about two years (or more) to even fit more appropriately. What's more is that to take advantage of the Hanes guarantee on the package, I have to pay to ship them...no way. They are a fine sock, the ankle does stay up on my son, I like the cotton content, and this will not prevent me from buying Hanes products in the future. I just think they should be much more realistic with their sizing and maybe make the 'small' size an XS, and break the Medium size into two different sizes being a Small and a Medium with better expectations of how they should fit a child. I will probably pick up a pack of smalls and put these away for the future...still, it's highly annoying and that's an extra $10 that I don't feel I should have to spend right now.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by AutisimGrandmaLovesU The only socks my grandson will wear
My grandson is a special needs child and really hates socks. But he loves his Hanes socks with the green print on the toes. He always knows they are his, and he loves that the seam is super smooth. (The smooth seam is what I was looking for) No more battles getting him to wear socks, as long as they are Hanes, with the green print, and comfortable seams. Thanks Hanes.
