Rated 1 out of 5Â by NancyJ YOU RUINED MY FAVORITE SWEATSHIRT!
Oh, the humanity! I purchase a bunch of these sweatshirts every 2-3 years, so it was with gleeful anticipation that I completed my traditional Hanes Ultimate Cotton sweatshirt purchasing rite this year. I couldn't wait to snuggle into the warm, fleecy goodness I've become accustomed to. I looked forward to once again slobbing around the house on chilly days in the tunic-length (on my average-height female frame) sweatshirt that has become a staple in my super-casual winter wardrobe. So it was with shock and dismay that I tried on this year's batch of Ultimate Cotton sweatshirts and discovered...they're so much THINNER than usual! Not nearly as fleecy! They're SHORTER!! My head is still reeling from the emotional trauma wrought by the deliberate desecration of my favorite sweatshirt. Hanes should pay for my therapy bills; it's going to take years to recover.
What it boils down to is this: The Ultimate Cotton sweatshirt is now on par quality-wise with the eight dollar sweatshirts you can buy at that very popular big box store notorious for exploitative labor practices. I don't normally advocate shopping there, but if you've barely got two cents to rub together, don't waste your money on the Hanes sweatshirt.
P.S. The royal blue and deep forest ones aren't even soft! And they're 2" shorter than the deep red and maroon ones.

Was happy with the quality but measurement for length did not hold true after washing. Have a tall torso and this is no longer comfortable as far as length. Otherwise good for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Playboy Kelly Green: vibrant color for my favorite toggery
In recent years sweats have become my choice apparel for winter. Admittedly, I no longer have to go to the office, and my current beat is generally my pad. So comfort and warmth are the yardstick. And by this standard I choose sweats, easily.
We live in times when a low thermostat has become an overriding consideration. So substantial clothing has become a must indoors, and sweats fill the bill. But this doesn't mean we have to forego visual stimulation. Matching sets are available in a rather large number of colors, while sweat shirts can be had in a much broader spectrum. The only down side to sets is that the shirts and pants are necessarily from different dye lots. Sometimes the match is great, at others, less so, but the results is always a simple, commanding sillouette - particularly if you include a light-weight, knit turtleneck of the same color beneath the shirt. If you are as insistent on variety as I, the available colors for sweat suits will afford plenty of stimulating change. Don't stint. Be happy. Treat yourself to the whole selection and your winters will be much more lively.
Another of my entrenched practices is to combine an appealing sweatshirt with a pair of flat-front khaki or chino slacks. This affords relief from the staid and hackneyed sweater/slacks combination. The sweat will be far more casual, roomy and comfortable and at the same time you will have overcome a cliche. Best of all, there is a much wider selection of colors in stand-alone sweatshirts, so this affords increased variety of hue. My life in a remote mountain village presents few occasions when more formal attire is needed. Bucket hats are available online in all these colors and they seem to go along naturally with the relaxed attitude of the togs I have described. And don't forget really cool sneakers chosen for line and simplicity, rather than the monstrous, out-sized clod-hoppers adorned with garish colors, reflectors, logos, etc.
There is an art to maintaining these items. Except for exuberant kids and those doing hard labor, the clothing of moderns rarely gets significantly soiled. If spots are treated first with spray-n-wash, just plain, clean water will suffice for the purpose. If a detergent is needed use only Woolite in cold water, but truth is, even this fades the original dyes to some degree. Following these guidelines will help keep colors bright. The wonderful cadmium blue, cadmium red, kelly green, etc. are just much less heartening when faded. Do what is necessary to preserve the dyes.

I'm very satisfied with your quality and promptness of service, as well as the quality of the sweatshirt I received. It's perfectly accurate as far as colour and fit are concerned.
