These run large
I ordered Men's Large because I had ordered that size before. Shirts received were 3-4 inches longer in the body and 2 inches longer in the sleeves than previous purchases. Returned for Medium size which were still larger than old Ls right out of the package. After two washings these Ms shrank to about the same size as my old Ls. Also, new shirts before washing felt less "beefy" than old shirts. After shrinkage they "beefed up" a bit.

The charcoal heather are nicer than the black for some reason. They are made in different countries and maybe different fabric.

Good for running.
I use the long-sleeve Beefy-T for early morning runs. After adding some reflective material to it, I find it a great T-shirt in temperatures around 50-55 degrees with no shell over it.
