Rated 3 out of 5Â by kitkat5 The elastic is uncomfortable
I just bought a pack of these and I thought I would be more pleased with the style and fit. These run a big snug and the elastic around the waist is so uncomfortable that it irritates my hips. If the "string" was made from a softer material I would totally recommend these, but unfortunately it makes it almost unbearable to wear.

Hanes String Bikinis fit great, look great, come in wonderful colors and are very comfortable. I've washed them a couple of times and they haven't shrunk yet. I highly recommend them.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Justine Good styling, not so good colors
My assorted package came with 2 whites, 2 prints, and 2 solids. Both the prints and solids were red and orange based: one solid red, one solid orange, one with alternating orange, red, and white stripes, and the other a floral-type print of orange/red flowers on white. I was hoping for something a little more feminine and less gaudy. Light colors like pinks, yellows, lavenders, etc. would be much nicer. At the very least, dark blues, greys, and blacks would be an improvement.
These are pretty snug, and they do rise quite low. They should hide well under all but the absolute lowest jeans. Because the waistband/strings are small and tight, if you buy these too small, they'll probably hurt you a bit. I like these well enough, but they won't be an enormous part of my drawer.
I'm a bit concerned with durability, though. I don't wear these that often, but I can see the string failing after a couple months of routine wear.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Lily They work very well for me
I find string bikinis work well because of the string sides, which adapt to the body. (If you got the right size, that is.) I have a painful side that can't stand the slightest binding, so these lowcut strings were a godsend, and they are what I wear daily unless I need to wear a nude pair. The back coverage on these is great, I don't have creep like from panties that don't cover properly, and there's little panty line unless my pants are tight fitting. I have some I bought four years ago, but they are lasting great because although I often wash them in a normal washer (I need to go back to using a net bag), I almost never throw them in the dryer.
Gaudy is a kind word for the color/pattern selection. I don't want patterns in the first place, and I look for as much of my underwear as possible in colors that won't show through, so I buy at the store not online. Hanes should consider flesh tones and different fabric selections.
