These are really just over the calf socks as they have a dedicated heel built in, just like you would find in a pair of dress socks.

      Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tight tube socks I am a woman with pretty slender legs, but these socks left fairly deep impressions in my skin by the end of the day from the ankle to just below the knee. I was periodically aware throughout the day that I was wearing these socks as their tightness asserted itself. I'm hoping it's just because they are brand new, and in time they'll stretch out a bit but I'm not holding my breath. Hanes used to make a Hanes Dry tube sock-just the right amount of elastic; they were very comfortable and quietly did their job without bothering me by constantly calling attention to themselves!

      Those over the calf tube 94% polyester are like wearing plastic bags on my feet they are very uncomfortable !!!!!!!! Hanes never again !

      my calfs must be in a different place on my legs. Over the calf useto mean almost to the knee. thats what i am looking for. Do you still make thick black knee high socks ???
